Nao Yamamoto

Born in Tokyo, Dr. Nao Yamamoto completed her doctoral studies at the College of Art, Nihon University, and graduated from the Accademia Musicale Pescarese, Corsi Superiori Internazionali di Alto Perfezionamento, with a major in piano performance.

She is one of only four PhD recipients in Japan to focus on Scriabin’s music. Active as a freelance pianist and researcher, she studied piano with many distinguished professors in Japan. Dr. Yamamoto has won numerous prizes in both domestic and international piano competitions, including third prize at the Valtidone International Music Competition in Italy.

Currently, she is a postdoctoral researcher at the College of Art, Nihon University, where she receives Grants-in-Aid for Scientific Research (Kakenhi) to study Scriabin’s music. She also serves as a performance fellow at Senzoku Gakuen College of Music.
