Martina Biondi, an accomplished Italian cellist, emerges as a promising talent from a musical family, starting her studies at the age of four. At just 17, she made her solo debut with Schumann's concerto, conducted by Donato Sito. Since then, she has been invited to prestigious musical settings worldwide.
Graduating with highest honors from the Stanislao Giacomantonio Conservatory at 17, she further honed her skills at the Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia with Giovanni Sollima, the Stauffer Academy in Cremona with Antonio Meneses, and the Hochschule für Musik in Leipzig with Peter Bruns. In 2016, she pursued her master's studies at the Hochschule Hanns Eisler in Berlin under Nicolas Altstaedt.
Martina's education included enriching masterclasses by renowned cellists such as Jens Peter Maintz, Gary Hoffmann, Franz Helmerson, and others. She garnered international recognition, winning prizes like the Pirazzi Stiftung Prize in Frankfurt and the First Absolute Prize "Premio Crescendo," including the Best Cellist prize.
Her notable performances include a debut with the Orchestra dei Pomeriggi Musicali of Milan and a guest appearance on the Hope@home TV program in 2020. In 2020, Martina collaborated with guitarist Pietro Locatto to form "Duo Evocaciones," focusing on composers like Cassadó, Albeniz, Granados, and De Falla. The duo's project received acclaim and was released by the label Stradivarius in 2022.
Martina Biondi plays an 1881 Antonio Guadagnini, entrusted to her by Gianni Accornero, showcasing her artistry and dedication to the cello.
