Soprano Juyoung Ma is establishing herself in the opera world with her recent achievements and captivating performances. Juyoung's musical journey has been marked by numerous awards and recognition, including first-place finishes at the 22nd Sung Jung Music Competition, the TG Chant Music Competition (2013), and 2nd Place at the New Jersey Sinfonietta Young Artist Competition, as well as 1st Place in the Concert Artist division at the Chicago International Music Competition. She was honored with a prestigious Academic Achievement Award and received a full scholarship from Seoul National University (2016).

 

Juyoung holds a Bachelor of Music in Voice from Seoul National University (2019) and a Master of Music in Voice from the Mannes School of Music (2022), where she studied under renowned instructors such as Diana Soviero and Chelsea Bonagura.

Her operatic career is thriving, with notable roles such as Lauretta in "Gianni Schicchi," Sour Genovieffa in "Suor Angelica," and Barbarina in "Le nozze di Figaro" with the SAS Performing Arts Company (2022-2023). Juyoung has also graced stages across the United States with companies like Music On Site and Chicago Summer Opera. Beyond opera, Juyoung's artistry extends to concert performances at prestigious venues such as Carnegie Hall (2023) and Lincoln Center (2022).

 

Her repertoire includes solo works as well as collaborations in choruses for major orchestral pieces. Juyoung Ma's dedication, talent, and remarkable stage presence position her for continued success and acclaim in the opera world.
