Cecilia Ferron

Founder & violin Tutor

Cecilia Ferron is an Italian violinist and founder of Lab der Musik, with a dedication to elevating music education to a higher level. She currently works as a freelance musician based in Berlin.

In May 2023, she made her debut with her trio at the Chamber Music Hall of the Berlin Philharmonic.

She began her violin studies at the Giuseppe Verdi Conservatory in Milan, completing the first phase of her musical education under Maestro Fabrizio Pavone at the Conservatory of the Vallée d'Aoste. She continued her studies at the Hamburg University of Music and Theatre, where she graduated with highest honors in her Master's program. In Berlin, she pursued further specialization with A. Frolov Chestiglazov (of the St. Petersburg Philharmonic) and Alina Pogostkina. Additionally, she attended international masterclasses with Fabrizio Pavone, Mark Gothoni, and Natalia Prishepenko.

Cecilia regularly performs as first violin with several renowned ensembles and orchestras, including Deutsches Symphonie-Orchester Berlin (DSO), Ensemble Modern, Deutsche Oper, Orchester der Komischen Oper Berlin, Brandenburger Symphoniker, Kammerorchester Berlin, Babelsberg Film Orchestra, and Berliner Camerata.

In 2017, she secured a contract as a soloist with the orchestra of the Theater des Westens in Berlin. From 2017 to 2019, she played in the musicals Ghost and Dance of the Vampires. Since 2019, she has also resumed her musical activities in Italy, performing as concertmaster with the Philharmonic Orchestra of Calabria and the Milan Orchestra.

She has performed under the baton of distinguished conductors such as Robin Ticciati, Jader Bignamini, Stanley Dodds, Sir George Benjamin, and Kristjan Järvi. She has accompanied world-renowned soloists, including Daniil Trifonov, Anna Netrebko, Valentina Lisitsa, Sergey Krylov, Mischa Maisky, Nicola Benedetti, Yusif Eyvazov, Ilya Kaler, Giovanni Sollima, and Monica Leskovar.

As first violinist with the Berlin Orchestra and the Berlin Chamber Orchestra, Cecilia has participated in tours across Italy, Germany, Austria, Turkey, Russia, South Korea, France, Poland, Japan, Finland, China, and Chile. She is also an active chamber musician, performing regularly in various ensembles, including string quartets and a trio with renowned cellist Martina Biondi and pianist Alina Pronina. In Italy, she performs as a duo with pianist Stefano Nozzoli, while in Berlin, she collaborates with pianist Maja Matijanec, with whom she has received acclaim in several concert reviews.

In 2012, Cecilia was awarded a scholarship for outstanding achievement by the Conservatory of the Vallée d'Aoste.

She plays a violin crafted by Roberto Collini (Crema, 2001) and resides in Berlin, where she continues her artistic exploration and development.
